Welcome back to Madison from Madison! I hope you have been having a great week. Here in Ames we are still recovering from our devastating loss to Iowa in football on Saturday. Although my Saturday was packed with tailgating, at the game, or helping to clean up the stadium afterwards, I also got some time to take some new outfit photos out and about with an amazing friend. I'm so excited to continue bringing you fashion-focused content. As always, if you have any suggestions for post content, don't hesitate to let me know!
Recently I was walking around the women's clothing section at Target (which is never a good idea). As I was walking around, a gingham printed piece caught my eye. Not only was the piece in a gingham print, which is one of my favorite prints, but it was also navy and white, which is one of my favorite color combos. Additionally, the piece was in the sale section. What could be better? The piece turned out to be a varsity/bomber jacket and I was obsessed. Needless to say, I walked out of Target with this jacket!

I had been looking to add some more bold prints into my wardrobe and I think that this jacket definitely helps do this. I found that creating an outfit around such a bold piece was a little difficult. The jacket stood out as the focus-point of the outfit and thus all I added was a white v-neck tee underneath, a pair of light wash denim, two simple gold necklaces, and my new pair of Sperry high top sneakers.

Jacket (no longer being sold): Merona (Target) | White V-Neck: Target
Jeans: Old Navy | Sneakers (similar): Sperry (Nordstrom Rack)
Although this jacket isn't available online through Target, a printed varsity/bomber jacket is one you can probably find at many other retailers. Consider adding the general idea of a printed jacket or bold prints to your wardrobe. The outfit options are endless with this piece. The colors are simple enough to allow for variance and the style is chic and preppy but also sporty and casual. Ultimately, look for something that you feel confident and comfortable in.

This outfit left me feeling confident, bold, comfortable, and sporty! I am absolutely convince that this jacket is me in a piece of clothing. It fits my preppy style but also adds a more easy going element to it. I am already looking forward to cooler weather that will allow me to wear this outfit or a similar one soon. Be sure to let me know if you incorporate this style into your fashion in any way! I love to see how style is adopted and adapted.
Thanks so much to my friend Sydney Rosenboom who took these photos and a ton more that will be coming to the blog soon! I can't wait to continue bringing fashion-focused content to the blog.
Thanks for spending part of your day at Madison From Madison!
