Happy Monday! This post is coming to you a little late in the day but I have been nannying like crazy since I returned home and I needed some time to take and edit photos. Despite this, I am so beyond excited to be bringing you a post all about fashion! I started my blog with this theme as one of my focuses and school made it more difficult to get out and take photos. No matter how busy I am, fashion is something that I continue to love. I love the way it allows me to express my personality and be creative. This is the first in what I hope to be a series detailing some of my favorite pieces within different categories. So for today, these are a few of my favorite accessories and specifically jewelry and bags!
*Title inspired by a song from my mom's favorite movie, Sound of Music

In this post I wanted to emphasize my accessories while sporting a spring inspired outfit. The outfit I chose features a new top paired with my absolute favorite pair of jeans from Old Navy. I also added a pair of chambray mini block heels. This off-the-shoulder top by the brand ELLE (Kohl's) is the perfect addition to a pair of jeans because of the in-between weather we have been having in Madison. The exposed shoulders and thin fabric embraces the cool air while jeans keep your legs warm.

Personally, I think that a large handbag is a closet staple. I put them to use when bringing my bible and notebook to church, when carrying essentials and my camera around while travelling, and more! My go to large-handbag is one that I picked out from Forever 21 for Christmas. I have found that Forever 21 is a great place to go to look for purses of all sizes at affordable prices. My two favorites are from Forever 21.

I always lean towards brown for my large purses because it is a soft neutral and can go with almost anything. One of my favorite features of this bag is the fact that it can be worn many ways. In the photo above I am utilizing the two small handles but in the photo below I have pulled out the long strap that is easily attachable and am wearing it across my body.

If you know me, you know that I am absolutely obsessed with monograms! I wear my dainty monogram necklace almost everyday. I love how monograms can define you and how they tell a story. Many people don't know what a monogram is and so it is always fun explaining what it signifies. I've worn this necklace so much that the gold color is starting to look silver! Looks like I may have to invest in a new necklace!! I love how this necklace goes with almost every outfit and adds just a little sophistication.

Another piece of jewelry that I wear almost every day is my Kate Spade watch. I received this watch as a graduation present from my grandparents and it is more than well-loved! I was drawn to this specific watch because of its medium-sized face, preppy character, and of course the little ring of sparkle around the seconds clock. My wrist feels bare when I don't have my watch on and I love that it serves both a practical and fashionable purpose. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the amazing present!

As you can see in the first photo, when appropriate I layer a few bracelets with my watch. These bracelets each have special meaning to me. I have two Alex And Ani bracelets with unique charms. I have one that is a half of a heart that says "Friends" on it, I got this as a gift from a close friend of mine and she of course has the other half. My other Alex And Ani bracelet has a charm with ΑΔΠ on it for my sorority. The other bracelet I wear on this hand is a simple silver bracelet that I got from a dear friend before we both headed off to Iowa State University from Wisconsin. For a fancier occasion, I will throw on my anchor leather wrap bracelet from Spring Lily Jewelry (check out her amazing Etsy shop HERE). The character that all of these bracelet together brings out is so fun and expressive!

Sorry for the photo spam! I may have gotten a little carried away with excitement! I hope you enjoyed this post and that you will maybe integrate some of these basic ideas/principles into your everyday style. Thanks for reading and for allowing me to be creative and go into full-fashion mode! I hope you enjoyed this post and look out for more style posts in the future!
