Hello there! As you can tell from the absence of posts these last few weeks, February was CRAZY! I was out of town and busy for three of the four weekends. While every moment was fun, I am excited to have some time to relax this week since it's spring break.

Although we're already a little over a week into March, I thought it would be fun to review just a few of the things I did in February!

I started off the month with one of my absolute favorite events of the year, the Salt Company Spring Conference. Every February, hundreds of Salt Company college students flock to Des Moines for the weekend to learn about God, worship and engage in community. I got to spend the entire weekend with my connection group co-leader who is one of my closest friends, two of the girls in our group, and tons of my other Salt friends. Romans 8 was split into four different sessions for the weekend. It was such a unique opportunity to break down a dense passage. I learned so much and couldn't take notes fast enough! The extended times of worship as well as the designated night of worship are a few of the reasons why I always love the conference. Additionally, I got to connect with students from the University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa, University of Minnesota, and more the whole weekend. We also took advantage of the chance to explore Des Moines and even got late-night milkshakes at Zombie Burger. It was an amazing weekend and a great way to start off the month. I am already looking forward to next year's conference.

A fun addition to the weekend was a group of my friends had a Super Bowl party so I ran home, threw on my Packers jersey (a fan can dream) and spent the night hanging out and watching the game, the commercials, and the half-time show!

The weekend following the conference was my only free weekend the entire month. I took the time to relax, catch up on studying, and continue settling into my apartment. I put up the last of my wall decor and I'm in love with it. This semester I am living alone as my roommate had to move into her sorority's chapter facility and the spot wasn't filled. I've actually grown to enjoy living alone and appreciate the alone time I get.

As the Scholarship Chair for Pi Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, I got to attend our District Leadership Conference the next weekend in Chicago. Our Executive Board and a few other officers (including myself) left Friday morning and boarded a coach bus with two other chapters from Des Moines to Chicago. It was so much fun to be able to develop deeper connections with the women leading our chapter.

We stayed in an amazing hotel/convention center and spent the days learning about our individual positions, topics relating to our entire chapter, and connecting with and hearing from other ADPis. I personally learned so much about my position and I'm looking forward to implementing new programs in the coming months. We also ended up winning the spirit award out of all of the chapters in our district which we were super excited about and proud of! This was such a unique and action-packed experience, I am so thankful I got to attend this year. Although the weekend was exhausting, it was well worth it!

(I did all of the lettering for our adorable name tags!)

I also turned 20 in February! My birthday was February 22nd and my friends and family made it a great day. I spent time with some of my closest friends and got to talk on the phone with all of my family. I had a great birthday night with dinner at Hickory Park with some girlfriends, Salt Company, and finally watching Thor: Ragnarok with friends. My birthday reminded me how lucky I am to be where I am, doing what I'm doing, with people that I absolutely love.

After celebrating my birthday in Ames, I drove home after school the next day and spent time with my family. This was my first time going home since the semester had begun and it was such a sweet and relaxing weekend. I opened presents, my brother and I went to see Black Panther (huge Marvel fan), we went out to dinner for my birthday, we went to church, and I got to relax for a little while!

These are just the large events that happened in February, but as you can see, it was a busy but awesome month. I am so excited to see what March brings my way. As for now, time spent with family and catching up on sleep this spring break is pretty great. I am also working on getting a ton of blog posts ready to post so that I can get back to posting consistently. Thanks for tagging along on this journey and for continuing to support me. Have a great week!
